Anyone else good at…wait for it…

Procrastination. The art of the last-minute crunch.

I don’t know what it is about rushing through everything at the last moment, but that’s what happened to me while getting some of my writing ready for the Southern California Writers Conference next month. I sent out my pages today when they are due tomorrow and so paid the overnight cost for it. Could have saved a bunch and it’s not like I HAD to wait until the last day–I just did. (sigh) Well, I suppose the important thing is that it’s sent and will arrive on time.

What about you? Are you a procrastinator? Or do you prefer doing everything right away so you don’t have to worry about it? Do you work better in a time crunch or do you enjoy planning and pacing everything out?

i used to be a procrastinator big time. it seemed like i worked better when the timeline was pushing on me to get it done. as i’ve grown older, however, that stress didn’t help me produce my best work. i’ve discovered that if i begin earlier and give myself time, i also have time to go over what i’m doing and make sure it’s just the way i want it. of course, what works for me is not for everyone. sometimes procrastination lights the fire needed to get going and get the job done.
