“Don’t kill the messenger!”
No one likes to give bad news. There’s also the problem with how to break it. Fast and shocking, or slow and drawn out.
So my Theoretical Thursday is this:
Would you rather a) NEVER have to deliver bad news (as in someone else would have to tell the person) or b) ALWAYS have to tell people the bad news, but it would hurt them half as much/long as it would normally.
This does not mean you can’t be there for them if you choose option A, but it doesn’t kill the possibility that the person may always resent you if you choose option B.
Can’t wait to hear what you choose!
if it helps make the pain more bearable, and for a shorter length of time, i’ll gladly be the messenger of bad news.
I can’t decide; this one’s the most difficult yet.
It seems to be tricky for several people, Saeed. The nice thing is it is theoretical, so you don’t actually have to do what you pick. 🙂
