Two little letters. So much power.
From the time we are small we learn the power of “no”. And also how easily people can ignore it. So my Theoretical Thursday is this:
If you could, would you make your “no” permanent? For example, if someone said “Eat your peas.” and you said “no” they would never be able to say anything after that to persuade, convince, guilt, bribe, etc you into eating peas. They would simply say “okay”.
That doesn’t mean you can never eat peas after that, just that they would respect your answer.
On the flip side, if you answer “no” to something, that person will never ask you about it again, even if you say it’s ok. It’s a permanent “no”.
Would you do it?
